There is a sea of potential money making work-from-home-mom jobs and businesses that require entrepreneurial spirit and strategy. There’s none (that I know of!) where you can just jump in and get started like you do at a standard full-time job. In all honesty, starting a business venture is a grind. The goal of Fly Moms is to make that grind more manageable and get you through the painful start-up phase faster, with support. If you are struggling with where to start, it’s important to look inward.
What do You Love?
Seriously, what is your passion? What lights your soul on fire? Don’t think about profitability, how to monetize, or how realistic it is. I just want you to reflect on the very basic core of what drives you as a person. This is incredibly important and is what’s missing when a lot of businesses fail. You need to have heart and it needs to be fulfilling, or it won’t last. I have started businesses and blogs that I just couldn’t stick with because the topics got too boring. When it get’s to the part where it’s a grind, loving what you’re doing is what allows you to stick it out. You can’t just be chasing the money because the money can take a while. We want to identify something you can stick with and helps you fulfill your purpose. Your business should be life-giving, not draining.
What’s Your Purpose?
So let’s avoid that trap from the start. Think about your skill set. What are you naturally good at? That’s your competitive advantage. Everyone has things that come more naturally. When you truly enjoy it and you’re in the zone, you do it faster and better than other people. You were made for something that matters. What are your life goals? What’s the dream that keeps you going? If you could do anything in the world just for fun, what is it? Start there then figure out how to turn it into a business, not the other way around.
If you’re still unsure about your purpose or what drives you, it’s ok. Start by reflecting and looking at your past. Sometimes when you analyze your past actions, you can identify a theme of what you have been chasing and truly want in life. Other times, we just need to let go of being practical so we can be fully alive.
