Are you striking out with every business or side hustle you try? It’s incredibly common to feel that your entrepreneurial endeavors aren’t working. Your products aren’t good enough, you don’t know what you’re doing. We’ve all had those thoughts. That’s actually part of the whole process. The hardest part of starting a brand new business, is staying committed without seeing results. Sometimes we expect instant results and when we don’t see them we get bored or give up.
A Slow Start is Good
Hear me out, starting out slow is actually good. It allows you to refine your products and approach before you receive feedback from a large audience. Think of this time as a free trial where maybe a few people interact with your business and you can gather feedback or analyze stats. You can determine what you do really well and figure out what you can keep doing without getting bored.
Perseverance is Paramount
Once your business really gets going it will be more like a snowball effect at first. Suddenly you’ll realize, it IS working and wonder why you ever doubted yourself. The difference between the businesses that make it and those that don’t, are the people who push past the uncomfortable start-up stage and don’t give up. You have to continue putting effort in. Whether it’s creating new products, trying new marketing strategies, writing new blog posts, or learning about SEO. Keep going as if you have a full-fledged business and one day you will.
It’s all About the Confidence
Fake it ’til you make it is absolutely a real thing. Act with authority, believe in yourself. Get rock solid on the value you provide and yes, double check that you are providing value. If all else fails, put on your big girl boots and ask for feedback. It may sting in the beginning but it could save your business in the long run.
